Aug. 5th, 2019 10:25 pmYou may be familiar with the concept of starter, as in the baking of sourdough bread. In this case you have the starter but don't use all of it, so you can use the same starter for the next loaf. Many bakeries and bakers will use the same starter for years or decades, or even over a century!
What you may not realise is that starter is an important part of other things as well. Like laundry - did you gather up all the laundry, get it all done, only to discover one sock or pair of undies you forgot to wash? That's the starter! Without it, you would not be able to generate new dirty laundry.
This applies to a lot of things: dirty dishes, household trash, so on. Always be aware of and make sure to leave yourself some starter, because without it you might not be able to get really good dirty dishes! You'd have to start completely over and that's not only a lot of extra work, but you also lose that special extra something you get from using the same starter each time. It just won't taste the same!
So when you do your chores, remember to leave some starter for next time! Keep those chores ongoing, let your children and grandchildren inherit your socks and undies so they, too, can enjoy the family laundry.
