[personal profile] damselfish has written a short satire story about romantic interest complaints in Mass Effect 3 because:
FTL is not too fanciful to suspend disbelief for, but gay people are. It made me wonder if their ideas of FTL were related to the statistical probability of the proportion of queer characters to straight.

Would this mean a ship full of queers would go faster?

The story ends thusly:
And that is why there are no gay people in space. They are moving away from you at an increasing rate, and like the light from a star, you will only see their image thousands, millions, or billions of years after they have moved on.

Has all of the gay in the future been distilled into Jack Harkness, perhaps?

My wife asks: "if all the gays are moving away from you rapidly, does that mean there's a pink shift?"
