The Marriage Equality postal vote is grinding me down into an hysterical paste, so I am about as chatty and engaging as a jar of Vegemite. I like Vegemite, but when it comes down to it, it's a salty spreadable paste, not a conversationalist.

That is an excellent metaphor, just. Wow. Yup. And such an appropriate topic to apply it to!

(Since the post is locked I obviously don't know the entire context, but: Dear OP, it may hearten you to know that my uni, as an institution, put out an email pledging support for equality and urging people to do their fucking democratic duty and vote participate in this ""survey"". With what you actually think, of course, but with only an incredibly thin for-plausible-deniability-purposes veneer over the 'and if you vote no, you're a terrible fucking person' "sub"text.

Sure, uni populations tend to swing fairly left to begin with so it's not a huge risk for them, but it's still nice to see.)
