Art is a Powerful Thing
Mar. 28th, 2013 10:08 pmArt is powerful. All kinds of art have power, to some degree, whether they're something by Mozart or a cookie-cutter pop song, a play by Shakespeare or an embarrassing badfic, Van Gogh's "Starry Night" or the most hideous DW/LJ icon ever--great art, good art, mediocre art, and shitty art all have power. Artists have power, no matter what medium they're working in, because the feelings they create have power. Art can make you cry, make you rage, make you clutch at your chest because it's so beautiful omg, make you laugh, make you go "I'm a lot better than that!" and run off to create something of your own, make you want to start a revolution, make you go "WTAF," make you want to dance, make you want to get it on, make you look at yourself differently, or just make you feel something.
Context also has a lot of My Chemical Romance feels.

Date: 2013-03-29 05:42 am (UTC)Every saga or romance
Whether true or fabricated
Whether planned or happenstance
Whether sweeping through the ages
Casting centuries aside
Or a hurried brief recital
Just a thirty-minute ride
Whether bright or melancholy
Rough and ready, finely spun
Whether with a thousand players
Or a lonely cast of one
Every story, new or ancient
Bagatelle or work of art
All are tales of human failing
All are tales of love at heart
