Context would like a warning label for fics with "women, written by men, who think they need a reason."

I don't know about fiction, but I know men in real life who'd be crying about it in that situation. One of them would be me.

And if we're not writing stories like that one, we dammed well should be.

Which is to say, I take your point and agree with it wholeheartedly. That said, I think the solution isn't to completely remove it from books with female protagonists, but introduce it to books with male protagonists as well.

Which, of course, isn't to say that everyone (nor every protagonist) should want to reproduce. It is, and should be, a personal choice rather than a requirement.
