So there's this George Takei ring tone, where he says "Oh My!" Just that one line, said in you know, his normal awesome George Takei voice.

I got it the other day, and of course immediately set it as the default ring for my phone. And then I got midoriseppen to call me so that I could make sure I'd done it right.

My phone started to vibrate in my hand. And then I heard a very faint "Ohhh My!" and then the phone vibrated again, and a louder "Ohhh My!", and it kept going on like that. I was rolling around on my bed giggling uncontrollably.

I'd forgotten that my phone both vibrates and rings audibly when I don't have it silenced (it is always silenced). I hadn't thought about how that combination would sound, and then you throw in the fact that my phone ramps up the audio based upon how long the phone is ringing... and yeah, if I don't get it on the first or second ring, it's so loud and he's so emphatic, that I'm not sure I want to answer the phone, because it seems rude to interrupt him at that point.

It is possible for a cell phone to be too nerdy? Because I already have BSG!Drums for a general ringtone, BSG!DradisContact for the morning alarm (works really well O_O) and TNG!WorfIncomingMessage for texts. :D

Back when Dreamwidth was starting up and was a little less stable, I was this close to recording myself shouting "HEY MARK! HEY MARK! HEY MARK!" and sending it to denise for her to sneak onto mark's phone as the sound for a text coming from the local Nagios (monitoring software) installation. Sadly, his iPhone didn't allow custom tones for individual senders.

Phones can never be too nerdy. My lock screen is the outside of the TARDIS and my first screen is blank so that you can see unobstructedly that my wallpaper is the inside of Season 5/11th Doctor's TARDIS. ^_^
