whatistigerbalm has just gotten around to reading it and cannot help but express glee about mismatched expectations:

I figured, it's a classic, it's about bunnies, it'll be some sad shit for kids where IDK somebody's bunny wanders off and dies or something. I did not expect BUNNY SPARTA: TOTAL BUNNY CARNAGE EDITION. Loved the hell out of it!

Dad used to read that story to my 4/5 year old brother. He *still* keeps stuffed bunnies around his apartment, in his 30s. I blame that book ;)

That's kind of like (despite being very familiar with the book and somewhat familiar with other people's reactions on seeing the animated movie) my reaction on seeing the animated movie. Except less Sparta, more that freaky creepy tunnel in the Willy Wonka movie. I don't know what that director was on, but I don't want it.
